Elf Jr.

A few weeks ago, Felicity auditioned for the musical Elf Jr.  This was the first time she auditioned for something outside of school.  She was nervous, as the audition was a cold read and then learning a dance routine.  Singing, which Felicity considers her strong point wasn't required until callbacks. She got a huge boost of confidence when she got a callback, and thoroughly enjoyed the audition process.  Two weeks went by and we heard nothing.  We chalked it up to a good experience and began looking for other things for her to audition for.  Last night I got a phone call at 7:20 letting me know that Felicity had indeed gotten a role in Elf Jr.

Felicity was at young women's and we had to pick her up at 8, so that didn't leave much time to plan a celebration, but the boys and I did our best.  Getting these two little guys to keep it a secret was no small task.  The ride home from church was filled with talk of the surprise and Froggie said at least five times, "Don't worry Felicity.  Your surprise isn't cake."  Thankfully we live really close to the church!  When we got home they asked her to wait in her room until they could get everything set up.

Operation "Congratulations Felicity" is underway.  Felicity was excited about the flowers, but wasn't sure what they were for.

I love how excited both of the boys were to surprise Felicity and to celebrate her achievement.

Roses and Lilies.  Her two favorite flowers.

Seeing her ice cream cake that said "Congratulations Felicity".  She still wasn't sure what was going on.

Reading a card that said "Good luck on Elf Jr,  You will be great!"

And she has figured it out!

Disbelief set in for a moment.

And then the joy took over.

This next picture makes me tear up.  She is sooooo happy.  I love seeing her like this!

Felicity, we are so proud of you.  You have worked so hard to develop your talents and that hard work is paying off.  You are incredible!
