More hair

While I think Felicity is beautiful and I never tire of taking pictures of her or looking at her sweet smile in pictures, the point of these hair posts are to keep a visual record of hair styles she likes so that we have a library to choose from!  Feel free to skip past the "hair" posts!

Felicity!

Isn't she lovely?

Kermit turns SIX!!!

How did this happen???  Kermit turned SIX!!!  I can hardly believe it.  We started his special day with our annual snuggle/chat in bed where Kermit told me what he liked about being five and what he is most excited about for being six.  Then we went to the kitchen for the traditional pancake birthday breakfast!

I have a tradition where I let the birthday child choose what we have for dinner on their special day.  Kermit loves pancakes more than any person I have ever known.  So it was no surprise when he requested "6" pancakes for dinner.

We rounded out his meal with some oranges, turkey bacon, scrambled eggs, and smoothies made by Kermit himself.

The siblings were quite pleased with Kermit's dinner choice!

This little guy is sure excited to be six!

Seriously, how awesome is this kid??? (And how is he six????)

The rest of the birthday details will follow soon!

Froggie's First Day

Froggie's first day of school was today.  He is attending Early Start at the elementary school to get some help with his speech.  Froggie is so excited to be going to the same school as Kermit, and even more excited they get to ride the bus home together.  Walking to the bus stop!

Waiting patiently for the bus.

How about a little "Red light, Green light?"

That sweet smile can brighten up anyone's day!

Froggie is most excited to learn how to read this year.

And see his friend Joey at school.

He also likes eating lunch in the cafeteria with all his friends.

Recess is good too, he says.

This little guy has an excitement for life that is contagious.  I am so happy that he loves school and is learning so much.  I just miss him while he's gone....

Here comes the bus!

Getting on all by himself.

He didn't even turn around to wave.  Sniff, sniff.....

Happy first day of school Froggie!!!

Another Day....

Another hairstyle!!  I mentioned earlier that Felicity has been growing her hair out.  What I failed to mention is that she spends some time scouring pinterest and a few "mom approved" hair blogs looking for hairstyles she would like me to do for her.  We don't always succeed, but today was a good one.  The front view!

The back view!

And my personal favorite!  She is a silly girl.

An added bonus of the hair styling that happens daily is the extra time I get to chat with Felicity in the morning.  There is something so lovely about this little lady and our early morning hair session/chat fests have become my favorite part of the day.

Date night!!

Froggie and I have a hot date planned tomorrow.  On the agenda?  Picking apples at the apple orchard, playing on their AWESOME playground, and then it's on to the Early Start open house.  Froggie will be going to the same elementary school as Kermit for a half day program where he can get some help with his speech.

Froggie loves going on mommy dates.  He spent about twenty minutes this afternoon picking out just the right outfit.  This is what he ended up with.  I'm a lucky girl to be headed out on a date with such a handsome (and fashionable) date!!!!

This little guy loves the camera more than any kid I know.  He is always happy to pose so long as he has complete creative control!

I have learned to go with it.

Let's be honest, there isn't much this kid can do that wouldn't be cute!

The tricky thing is.... he already knows that!

That sweet little grin gets him out of some sticky situations!

Froggie's personality has blossomed over the past year, and he has definitely become my little jokester!

As excited as he is about our date, I think I am just as excited.  I love this little guy.  Spending time with him makes my heart happy.

A gift for Sister!

This afternoon Froggie helped make a little present for Felicity.  Remember all those bows I made for her.  Well we needed some place to store them.  Instead of throwing them in a box we opted to display them in her room.

An empty wood picture frame, a little paint, some ribbon, and some die-cuts and we were in
business!

I love how it turned out.  It is so colorful and looks so fun on her wall.  Froggie helped me hang it up.  (Those lessons at the Home Depot are really paying off.  This little guy is a whiz with the hammer!)  He is SOOOO excited to surprise Felicity when she gets home from school!

First Day of School Update!

First grade must be tough.  This is how I found Kermit at 5:15.  He slept until the next morning!

Craft Time!

We took a trip up to Illinois a few weeks ago to spend some time with family.  While the kids were busy playing with their cousins, I was busy crafting it up with my sister.  The first thing we made was this family sign.  It didn't photograph that well, but in person it is beautiful and I love it.

The other craft we worked on was making hair bows for the girls.  The lady at Hobby Lobby was not thrilled with me when I put about twenty different bolts of material on her table and asked for 1/4 yard of each.  I, however, was thrilled with how the hair bows turned out.

I got material that coordinated so that the bows could be doubled and tripled up.  No sewing involved to make these cute little flowers.  The girls had a great time making them with us.

And just because seeing her cute face makes me so happy, here is the "front view" of this hairstyle!  Felicity has been growing her hair out and it is so long.  She loves having her hair done daily, and I love doing it because it gives us a few extra minutes to chat every morning!

First day!

Well it's that time of year again.  The first day of school.  6 A.M. came WAY too early for Kermit!  He perked up when we got to school and he got to walk the "red carpet"!

Kermit was sick on back to school night, so he was quite anxious to meet his new teacher.

Leading the way to his classroom!

After meeting his new teacher, Kermit and I made our way to the cafeteria to have breakfast together!  I sure love this little guy and cannot believe he is in the first grade!

After getting Kermit settled back into his classroom I rushed home to help Felicity get ready for the first day of seventh grade.  After I straightened her hair, she had overnight oats for breakfast.

Then I made her pose for the obligatory first day of school photo.  She's just lucky I didn't go to the bus stop and make her turn around on the first step of the bus for a picture!!

With all the excitement of the first day of school, Froggie was feeling a bit left out (He doesn't start until next week).  When Felicity went to leave Froggie had a bit of a melt down.  He loves Felicity and was devastated that she would be gone all day.

Many tears were shed.  Felicity did what she could to comfort him...

But in the end I had to pry his little hands off of her and carry him inside crying.  I get it, Felicity is an easy girl to love!

Happy first day of school!
