Does anyone want a snack?

My Kermit is a busy little boy. He is very curious and loves to "help"! The other day I was on the phone talking and Kermit asked if he could make a snack. I said yes and asked what he wanted. He asked for toast. I got out the toaster and we made two pieces of toast for Kermit. I unplugged the toaster, put it away in a cupboard, and went into the living room to continue my phone conversation. Kermit would come out and sit with me and then run back into the kitchen to eat his toast(or so I thought). This continued for about ten minutes until the smoke alarm started going off. I ran into the kitchen to see the toaster sitting back on the countertop with two very black pieces of toast. One piece is on fire and one piece is smoking pretty bad. I throw the toast and toaster outside and figure out how to turn off the smoke alarm. Once things quieted down, I asked Kermit what he was doing. And he looked at me and said, "I make Felicity a snack." How can I be mad when his intentions were so sweet? When Felicity got home from school Kermit proudly offered her a snack of petrified toast. She politely threw them away and had an apple instead.

Confession: I forgot to take a picture of the toast Kermit made before it landed in the trash can, and decided to recreate it. I took my eye off the toaster for just a minute and when I turned around it was smoking. The toast in the picture isn't nearly as dark as Kermit's, yet I still managed to set off the smoke alarm again. What do you think the neighbors are thinking?

A little about Autumn!

Today on the way to church Felicity was talking to me about magic. I told her all about a family friend who is a real life magician. I told her all about the tricks he used to do when I was her age. She asked me if he could cut someone in half and then put them back together again. I told her I thought he could. She told me, "I wouldn't want to be the person he practiced on. Maybe he could use Kermit."

Today was fast and testimony meeting and Felicity leaned over and asked me if I had a testimony. I told her I did. She then asked if I was going to share it today. I told her I might. Then I asked her if she had a testimony. And she looked at me and said, "I'm still working on it." What a perfect answer. She is such a sweet girl and I treasure everyday I get to watch her learn and grow.

We're Thankful for....

This year we are thankful for so many things.

Felicity is thankful for her mommy, Daddy, Kermit, and Froggie. She is thankful for her friends and her cousins, and good food to eat (she really is her mother's daughter), and a house.

Kermit is thankful for balls, mommy, and Felicity.

He didn't tell me this, but I am sure Froggie is thankful for baby orajel and teething tablets. He cut two more teeth this past week.

I am grateful for my sweet kids and for my whole family that allowed us to crash their thanksgiving festivities. I am grateful for my friends, both old and new, who are willing to drop everything to help me out. I am grateful for the gospel in my life and for the sweet peace it brings.
